Alternative Ways with Horses Clinic

Saturday December 10th from 9 am to Noon!

For anyone who wants to understand horse language, get a solid introduction to groundwork, learn about herd dynamics, how to feed horses so they respect you & much more.

Great for volunteers!

Cost $65, or 6 volunteer hours. Two scholarship slots for those volunteering currently in horse rescue.

June 25th Clinic - Demystifying Horse Whispering

I am pleased to announce that Well Trained Horses with ICSSOMA Farms will be hosting another one of their highly praised clinics this Saturday June 25th. They have always gotten rave reviews and now you have an opportunity to see what it's all about. Work with Susan Jan Hornstein and some of the many rescued horses over the years to cover this month's clinic “Demystifying Horse Whispering.”

Who will benefit? Those who have horses, would like to have horses, would like to volunteer with horses, or overcome fear with horses.

In this clinic you will begin to learn how horse herd dynamics effect you as a rider, groom, trainer and visitor. Understanding these dynamics will enable you to feel more confident with horses, to begin to build your new skills with them, and for trainers, to add new methods to your training methods. You will observe their interactions and "learn to speak their language." You will be able to participate as much as you wish, or in some cases observe more, depending on your preference. This clinic is not only incredibly instructive, and filled with beauty, it will also give you the basic skills you need, sharpen current skills, or add to new ones to the mix. Apply the knowledge gained to your own horses or help out with our horses and become a volunteer.

The May clinic was an overwhelming success and we received lots of positive feedback from our “sold out” crowd. Here are a few comments from those who attended last month.

First Rides and Life Long Memories

We received a wonderful email and some photos a few days ago after Natalie, age 4, had her 3rd mini lesson.

“Dear Joy,

Thank you so much for today's lesson. I am very grateful for you doing such a fantastic job with our daughter! You are a very good, very patient teacher, great with kids. Trust me, as a parent I know that our daughter is not an easy one. :-) Natalie loves our Sundays with you and your family. I am astonished to see how confident she is with horses.
